Will there be a noticable difference between a Green HDD 5900rpm vs a regular 7200rpm drive?
Just not sure about which kind of HDD to go with, green, blue or 7200rpm... inputs please, I'm ordering this weekend

Blue will be slightly faster. For reliability reasons I would go WD Green.

Do note go with that alternate RAM option. It's rated at 1.65 volts which could potentially damage the Intel CPU.

What case are you trying to reuse? We might have to include a case in your budget.

Few key points about this build.

  1. The i5 2500k is ~3% slower than the i5 3570k. Plus it can probably overclock more than the 3570k, so you'd gain that back with a higher overclock.
  2. The motherboard, as DJ Big T pointed out, is cheaper and meets your black PCB requirement. I didn't bother looking for more.
  3. After shipping costs, this is the cheapest set of DDR3 1600 RAM available. Though you could probably save a little more going with a DDR3 1333 kit. You wont notice any difference between the two RAM speeds, nor will it effect your overclocking.
  4. This PSU will handle this system just fine. It's also modular and one of the better quality PSUs out.
  5. The Nvidia GTX 670 is faster than the 7950. Plus Photoshop can take advantage of the CUDA Tech with Nvidia cards.
  6. This is the fastest consumer 1TB HDD on the market. Worth the small added costs to get a significantly faster drive.
  7. The M4 is proven to be a top contender in SSDs with both price and performance.
  8. Since you wanna overclock, I included a CPU cooler in on the budget. This cooler, based off the CM 212+ (Which is capable of 4.5Ghz on a 2500k) is a solid contender. Plus it's a few bucks cheaper than the 212+. You should be able to hit 4.5Ghz on that 2500k easily.

Granted this HDD is intended to be used as a secondary/storage drive for the OP; due to the small 128GB sized SSD once the OP starts to download a good bit of programs/games/etc.. on that 128GB, he will then need to unload it onto the Green drive. Do note that these drives are not intended to be used as a primary drive. I wouldn't even use it as a second "primary" drive either. They are pretty much strictly for storage.

Case I'll be using is a Corsair 600T and only reason why I'm going with the 7950 is because I got a free waterblock and its cheaper...

As for budget it doesn't include the shipping or cooling since I'll be watercooling, sorry should've said that earlier.

How's the ram and HDD choice? Should I go 16gb of ram?

I'm trying to stay with NCIX and Memory Express as vendors.

750W is overkill for that system, you could save money there.
That Seagate drive is slower than the one I listed from NewEgg, it's $90 at ncix. I'd go with it instead. Might free up enough money to get a 256GB M4 instead. Also we do not account for MIR's in our budgets, since you still have to front the costs plus MIRs are never guaranteed.

NCIX is "banned" from here. Just put NCIX . com after the www. and it'll load in the browser.

Crossfire 7950s total system wattage is 471W under full load.

You will be fine with the PSU I recommended even under Crossfire.

Do note that those power readings are taken at the wall, which is higher than what the actual PSU is delivering. It takes power, to make power. So the actual system is probably closer to like 376W. (Assuming the PSU being used has an 80% efficiency rate)

If you wanted to play it a little safe, go with a 650W PSU and save the money.
