I'm in need of advice from the masters here (thanks in advance!).
I have a Corsair TX850 that is basically dead (and no warranty possible). If the computer has been unplugged for a while, it will power up for a half second or so. I have removed it from the computer and tried to start it with a power supply tester and it does the same thing. Jumpering with a paper clip does the same thing. The 5V sb lead is a perfect 5V when plugged in and sitting there. Physically, I can't see anything wrong with the unit (well, except the big white ceramic resistor by the AC line has some brown residue on the top of it).
Any suggestions about where to start looking for bad components in the unit?
