I am trying to ran a LAN with Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth but every time I try to join my friends game, it says serial is in use. Now I am confused a little because. This is a home network with computers in my house not playing over the internet. I now this is an EA game. I can play a lan with my friends on all my other games like AVP, AVP 2, Warcraft III, starcraft, and aga and myth.. could some body help me. I have some people tell me that you need 2 different copies but I never had for any of my other games. I am using a router and I have some coputers connected to it physically and wirelessly. And I always just used for example one copy of Warcraft III and I would just start it on all the computers one at a time with that one copy than we would play a LAN. It doesn' t make sense to have to use more than one copy for a LAN because then u would have to install different copies on your computers. Or is this just something I have been lucky with. Tell me of some other games like this.

...

Because the serial is in use (over a NETWORK-- WAN or LAN, doesn't matter), it is already limited to one client. You'd need another copy.

Edit: Got mean at first. Realized my attitude. Fixed my language.
