Ive quested for this as well.

A workaround I use is that I mount the share and make an alias. When you logout and back in you can doubleclick and open it.

something else you can do is when you map to it and it is on the desktop, open system prefs and login options for 10.2 and accounts and login options in 10.3 then drag and drop the drive into that window....what that SHOULD do is when that user logs into the comp they will be prompted for the pw for that drive
