I currently have 570 GTXs in SLI. Would 1 AMD R9 280x be a better upgrade to play BF4. I only have a $350 to spend on a card so i could only buy one for now.

overall a 280x would be slower than 570 sli but the vram will certainly limit you in a game like BF4. 7950 crossfire if you can stretch to 400 bucks or so would be a killer deal though.

btw always list the rest of your specs in detail including exact psu and resolution you want to play at when asking for upgrade advice.

Are you sure that 570 SLI > 280x?

I have a single 570 and find that hard to believe. VRAM statement is accurate.

You will probably run into less issues with a single card and playing at higher res, the 280X should come out on top.

If you get the Sapphire Toxic 280x that have been said to do 1300Mhz or so as at that level brings it close to stock 780GTX performance from what I read.. but also CX 7950 is the better deal if your set up for it which sounds like you are and that will outrun 290x /Titan/780GTX at stock settings.
