I am looking for heatsinks for a video card in a laptop. I need one that is about 1.5"x1.5"x.25"(height) and others that are about 1/4" high for ram. Any ideas?

svc.com and frozencpu.com might have something that would work.

Also, if you ever find any active heatsinks I'd really like to know. I hear they've been working on the technology but they've come across some very elusive problems.

well, wouldnt a peltier stuck to a heatsink technically be an "active" heatsink?

or would active refer to trying to actively dissapate the heat in the heatsink?

Check out the various Microcool and Tweakmonster 'sinks at Sidewinder Computers. Both are very high quality, and Sidewinder has a very high Resellers Ratings. I order from them and their service is superb.
