I just need a couple of suggestions. I'm looking at swapping out my old processor (AMD 1700+ Palimino core) with a new one. I have a NF7-S v1.x (no mounting holes for heatsink) and was wondering what should I get? I am thinking about overclocking, but nothing to major (never oc'd before). Also what heatsink would work good? Thanks in advance for all your help.

any of the amd xp mobile bartons would be a good choice, and maybe a thermalright SLK900A HS. :D

I noticed the Thermalright SLK900A HS doesn't come with a fan. Again, any suggestions? I want good cooling but don't want my computer to sound like a jet taking off. (Currently I have a thermaltake volcano 5 and that sounds fine to me). Also what memory would be good? I currently have 2x256 kingston value ram. Would corsair be better for oc'ing?

Go with the Barton 2500+. I mean for $80 you can turn it into an over $200 processor. Now as for a HS I would go with either of the fallowing. A Zalman CNPS3100 which is only $19 and gets the job done very well, a Zalman CNPS6000 for $28, and last but not least you could get a Thermalright SLK900A for $38, the SLK900A doesn’t come with a fan so I would go with a 92mm Tornado if you can handle the noise factor, and if you can't, go with the YS Tech 66cf 92mm fan (very quiet). Slap on some AS5 and you’re good to go. :)
