I'm planning a new computer, probably this summer. But it may be sooner, considering I'm chomping at the bit right now. I may even get the case and mod it ahead of time. Either way, I think planning the case mod stage now is OK, since they're not going to come out with faster casters before the summer.

Anyways, here's a tentative list of things I'm considering:

-Dual-core processor (gotta check prices on that one)
-SLI, with two hot babies (yeah, I know, that's gonna cost)
-Most likely 2x SATA
-Most likely 2x DVD-RW of some sort
-Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (already own this)
-TV Tuner... may get a new one, may stick my old one in the new comp, may not bother with it at all

OK, I think parts wise, that's all the important details. Now here's what I'm looking for case-wise.

-Preferrably NO window, I want to cut my own
-I'm going to paint this, so something paintable. Is brushed aluminum any harder to paint?
-Uhhh... stay away from anything plastic. I haven't had much luck painting them (plus plastic is for cheap toys)
-Removable MB tray is a MUST
-Anything else that's removable (PS bracket, HD cage) is a plus. This may be an interior paint job too, so it's best if I can take EVERYTHING out.
-Cooling to support the parts
-Relatively quiet, though noise is going to be second to performance. In other words, something supporting 120mm fans.

OK, if I haven't ruled out every single case in existance yet, tell me what's left. Also, if you have any other suggestions, feel free to let me know :)

Lian Li PC-60, PC-07, etc.
Coolermaster Praetorian.
I'm not sure about the cooling stuff on those, but they have all the rest of the features (And no, brushed aluminum shouldn't be any harder to paint) you're looking for and are in the ~ $100 range.

Actually I was thinking the other day the Praetorian 730 is downright SEXY the other day... but I'm not sure how that front would paint, especially if I'm planning on sanding and going for a really, really nice finish.

Yeah, I just realized that with the removable MB tray, the job would be come pretty easy. Funny thing is, not that long ago I was about to ask if there was a side panel with a window that came with the Praetorian. Then I found better guides on cutting windows and decided to give it another shot. Then the modding bug bit and I want to paint too :)
