Need some oc'ing help. Does running at 5:4 decrease mem oc?

Currently, my pc3200 CH-5 memory can only run at 208.5mhz. Which seems pretty crappy. I have tried to loosen the timings to the loosest possible. VDimm is at 2.9. Have not tried to see how much the memory can run at 1:1, but if there is no difference in overclocking memory between 5:4 and 1:1, then I won't bother it since I probably have reached my max.

Also got another question. How much will a 3:2 divider affect me? Are there benchmarks that people have done to see the difference? I prolly won't go here unless I can find the the decrease in performance is not THAT great.

OCing is just that OCing. if u get 208 out of ram thats only supposed to do 200, then thats seems fine to me. go 1:1 and up ur ram till u hit a stop, when u do, thats the highest it will go, simple. thats it. if u want to go higher, then buy some better ram.

yeah. i get that. my question is if i can get let say 215 at 1:1 (which i haven't tried yet), i should be able to hit 215 at 5:4 and not suffer any decrease in max memory speed right?

ahh..finally i can word my questions correctly. hehe

still havent worded it to when i fully understand the question, but here's my best try.

215 @ 1:1, will run the same speed as 215 5:4. u just have to bench those two options to see what ur system likes better. if u max at 215@1:1 then it will max at 215 5:4.
