I mod cases for my friends, I plan on working with the Sunbeamtech Tri-Laser LEDs. I would like to know if there is a way to work Sunbeam meteor light effect, (the Knight rider, pulse, ect) into working with the Tri-Laser LEDs. Is there some part that I can buy and add to it to get a similar effect? Thanks

gimme a link to the laser LED which has a good picture of what it is.. then I will tell you.

there is a circuit for it, i have a small home made pcb that would make it do that. although its made for 4 channels. but i hardwire it for 3. Lemme know. :D :D

There is no easy way to modify the laser LED module to include light chasing functionality. The trouble is that the three LEDs are already wired up in the black casing and would need to be completely rewired to function. If you are willing to go to this level then you might as well create a completely custom LED module.

There is a number of schematics and tutorials on the internet for various LED projects. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but I would suggest you search for "knight rider circuit" as a starting point.

If you need more information, or run into trouble, feel free to drop by the electronics forum.

The knight rider artical is linked in the FAQ, and it would be easier to start from scratch than to redo all the pieces, get the plastic from your local plastic house, scrap if available and the cut and grind to your custom shape, drill acouple of holes and add the Leds and wire them up to use the knight rider type of circut.

would be alittle more time to do but you don't have to worry about breaking an expensive devise only to find out it would not mod the way you thought it would.
