It's time to upgrade my pc but i can't decide:
I'll need new mobo and new cpu (and new memory but it can wait)
Anyway what i've at the moment
r9700np, 512 MB Kingston Value DDR333 (should be quite easy to hit PC3200 speeds), SB live, IBM 30 Gb 7200rpm, tdk cd-rw, nec dvd, Foxconn Deer 400W PSU
So i narrowed my choices to:
Barton 2500/2600+ with Epox 8rda3+ (epox is cheaper than NF-7S and has better bundle imo) around 200$ + good fan
PIVC 2.4C + Abit IS-7E/IS-7 (I want only sata+lan and good overcloaking abilities from mobo) around 275$ + costs of upgrading ram
PIV 2.8C + IS-7E/IS-7 around 325$ + ram
A64 3000+ + Aopen-86L (definitly the best performer at stock from the above) around 400$
That will be used for gaming only (plus some matlab/pspice + other funny programs i need for studying)
Now which one will be best with overcloaking taken into equation, is the A64 worth paying twice the cost of 2500+ overcloked to around 3200+ speeds? Will the extra speed help with only r9700?
I'm rather on a tight budget but if those 400 are worth paying then i can wait a bit longer as my 1700+ is still usable (no overcloaking on this one 0.18u
