I happened to come across this ... thing, brand new. I will upload a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. It's a SkyJack item, the information listed is as follows:

Part Number - 135990AA
Inverter Input - 25.2 VDC at up to 40 Amps
Inverter Output - 120 VAC, 60 Hz
Sine Wave
Provided with integral protection against overload

Now, obviously this is an inverter, probably something industrial, but I cannot find any information on this thing on the internet. I also came across a few other items that I will be questioning about here in the near future.

Next thing up is what I have found to be an antenna for a satellite phone. I can't find many details about it or a price or anything, which is what I'm really looking for.

It says

Model SAF4070-IG
Passive Iridium Active L1 GPS Antenna

Okay, so what the heck? Anyone use one of these? What does it do and is it worth anything to me or should I just throw it away?

Lastly, I have a NAL Research Corporation 9601-DGS, which I have found is some type of satellite tracker.... Here are the pics on that, does anyone have any info?

Thanks for your help guys!

SKyjack seem to be a manufacturer of scissor lifts and from what I can find that is an inverter they supply for use with some of their scissor lisfts, presumablly for the purposes of suppllying power tools.

As for the third bit of kit it is a combined GPS receiver and iridium data messaging device. It can either be used standalone as a position tracker or be connected to another device over a serial link.

It seems they can be factory configured for either military or civilian use, assuming yours is configured for civilian use and still works it should be possible to buy service and get it activated. Contacting the manufacturer is probablly your best bet for finding out what is involved in buying service. If you get in touch with them you might also like to tell them that their anonymous FTP service seems to be down.

The second piece of kit is pretty obviously the antenna to go with the third piece.

Wow I don't know how I didn't find any of that... Thanks! Do you think any of it is worth some money?

Assuming it works the inverter is almost certainly worth some money and relatively easy to sell. There are lots of applications for inverters and that one seems quite a good one (decent output power and sinewave output).

As for the iridium device http://dms.myflorida.com/business_o...s_expired/price_sheets_thunder_communications reckons the MSRP is $1,105.00 so it's potentially worth quite a lot to the right buyer but i've no idea what the market in second hand satcoms gear is like nor where you would go to sell it.

How in the heck did you find this?

I googled 9601-DGS and poked down the list until I found a page that actually seemed to be listing prices (unfortunately most dealers of this sort of stuff seem to work on the principle of if you have to ask you can't afford it)

Should be fairly obvious that ebay is going to be the best place to offload these. (Items of questionable origin and not many people looking to buy them at that).

Also alot of satellite equipment is rented out. I don't know how you obtained the stuff but you might want to make sure it isn't rental equipment.

Well obviously ebay will have the most users, but I think these need a more defined market to sell in. That's what I'm trying to find.

you can look around for some enthusiast satelite or radio forums for a place to sell this stuff, but ebay is probably going to have the largest exposure. also try amateur radio circles, some of those guys are into satelite telemetry and whatnot, though i asked the guy next to me who is into amateur radio and he didnt have any suggestions.

In case you're not familiar with amatur radio - QST is a great magazine, might have some resources for a forum or area you could sell your equipment. ARRL is the 'governing body' over Ham. Might be some starting places for you instead of shooting in the dark...
