Hey everyone.
Tomorrow morning I am going to buy a 24" LCD and I need help deciding between these two monitors:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009167&Tpk=H243H
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116401&Tpk=VX2433wm

They are both the same price. They seem quite similar except for a few things..
-The newegg link says the Viewsonic has RGB input. I can't see it in the pictures. If it really does have the input connectors that will be a HUGE plus.
-The Acer has 40000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to the Viewsonic's 20000:1. Is this significant enough to make a difference? I have never used a monitor with dynamic contrast ratio.
-The viewing angle on the Viewsonic is better.
-The Acer is .4" bigger.
-The Viewsonic is somehow 5.5 pounds lighter?
-I read that the Viewsonic supports HDCP on HDMI while the Acer supports HDCP on DVI. Does this even matter if I dont watch bluerays?

I would really REALLY appreciate any advice on this. I am leaning toward the Viewsonic cuz I loved my Viewsonic CRT. If anyone knows whether or not the Viewsonic does actually have RGB input that would probably be the biggest deal maker. Also any advice on the dynamic contrast ratio would be great.

I was hoping to leave tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn. Thanks much!!! :-D

Going to bed now. Very excited to replace this temporary 15" POS!
Hoping to wake up to lots of advice.
:)

First, don't trust the specified contrast ratio; even the subjective reviews are better.

HDCP doesn't make a difference with your computer since the software need simply not look for it. It only matters if you want to connect a PS3/360/BDplayer/etc directly.

If you would look in the specifications tab you'll see that they both support RGB (D-Sub)

Also, be warned that newegg doesn't have the best dead pixel policy; I believe they require something like 8 before they'll take it.

For $200 consider getting this. If you can live with up-scaling 1080p you get an amazing amount of pixels for your dollar.
