All right I've been wanting more resolution for quite some time. I currently have two Asus VW224U @ 1680x1050 each. I'm fairly certain they're TN but I don't really know for sure. Now, I've been looking at grabbing a couple larger resolution monitors. I pretty much want 23" or 24" panels with a resolution of either 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. Doesn't really matter which. I've seen both and worked with both and frankly I don't notice the 120 pixels that much.
Of course the next obvious question is what will they be used for? As I'm quite limited on space on the whole they tend to be pretty much everything I use for a visual means. I run my 360 to them through VGA and my comp through DVI. Works pretty well too. Just press a button and bam automatically switches inputs for me. I do quite a bit of gaming, watching movies, and multimedia in general. Quite frankly they're pretty much all around monitors. I'm not hugely sensitive to ghosting so speed isn't super important. But I suppose the lower the better.
After quite a bit of reading here and looking around I keep finding myself looking the Dell Ultrasharp U2311H. I've been reading this whole thing about IPS and VA panels and honestly I have no idea of the real differences. There are the technical differences sure. But there is always a difference in technical versus real life I have found.
So, really what can you guys suggest? I'm looking at about $300 or so a monitor. I can go higher if the quality is really there. Cheaper is of course always better, but as well all know the saying, "You get what you pay for."
Oh, also one more quick question would I have to buy new DVI cables to pair up with the monitors at that resolution?
Thanks in advance,
