Hello all. I built my PC BACK IN 2013/14 with an i5 4670k and haven't touched overclocking at all, only because I'm not sure what to look at when in the BIOS. From people I here you can overclock this mighty i5 over 4.5mhz. If anyone has any experience with overclocking this CPU how can I run this at 4.5mhz or greater then stock?

Recent post on possible upgrades. https://hardforum.com/threads/could-use-some-upgrades.1917958/

I don't think you wanna run it at 4.5mhz :)

But whether yours OC's to 4.5Ghz is completely up to the thermal properties of the chip you got (aka luck). So no one can answer the question for sure, you will have to test this yourself. Up the multiplier to x45 and try booting into windows and running Prime95. If it fails or you can't even boot, you'll have to increase the voltage. Also I suggest you do this in increments, eg. try x38 first and then go up from that.

If Prime95 doesn't give errors after 24hr of benchmarking then you can consider that pretty stable.

Yea you know, after going from thread to thread I see that most people have it at 4.4 and 4.3 so I think I'll just sick with that. And try the method you suggested.
