My Hyper-V server has a 4 port Broadcom NetXtreme GB NIC. I'm currently using one of the ports dedicated for the host and the other 3 in virtual networks for low utilization VM's (currently 4 VM's)
I've been hesitant to use the port being dedicated to the host, but I may have to use it to help balance network utilization. How important is it for the host to have a dedicated nic?
Also, there are some advanced features for the nic like Virtual Machines Queues that I can enable. What is the best practices for these advanced features?
Thanks.
