Need help with Windas

I was wondering if maybe someone could help me with a Windas problem.

I have the HP version of the FW900 with Windas installed properly (i think) and the correct cable (i think) and a USB - COM1 adapter.

I used the installation instructions posted here:

When i launch Windas i get a few errors

1. Astro SG is not used. Please check configuration!
i hit ok then get..
2. ASTRO SG COMMUNICATION ERROR
then..
3. ASTRO SG TIMING SETUP ERROR
then Windas opens and i can select the model

After this i go to config and get the Thank you for using this program! message.

After this im lost. I dont know what settings to use to connect to my monitor

For Esc Port i select COM1 (thats what device manager says my com is)
For SG i set it to Manual and then when i go to save my configuration i get this error:

The Instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at 0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program

When i reload program and hit save config again i get Can't connect to monitor. Check Bus line and condition.

I would really like to get this working, ive spent a good amount of money on cables and such so any help is really appreciated.
