ok. i have a thermaltake case with 7 stock fans. they push 37 cfm max. the detected temperature is roughly 30 C. it reaches to about 36 C when im gaming. i want to lower the temperature to at least 25 C. is it possible? i'm looking for some good fans that push a lot of air and are quiet. and one more thing? how do you tell if a fan is installed backwards?

Roffle.

Why are you complaining about 30c ? My 300$ watercooling rig doesnt cool much better than that. 36c load? BE HAPPY!

Unless you watercool with a larger radiator OR crank up that Airconditioning you won't do much better than that.

Whats your room temp?
You won't get below ambient room temp probably 5 -10c above is where you'll be.

Put a piece of paper in front of the fan, if it falls off it blows and if it sticks it sucks.

[playful and not insulting response]

Yes, theres that. Additionally, people are given skin with sensitive nerves that have the ability to feel *GASP* wind. Place your most trusted hand in front of the fan to see whether it blows or sucks.

Aside from the already supplied answers, in general people have their fans arranged to have them blowing in from the front/side, and blowing out the back/top.

I'm pretty sure you weren't asking which way the wind is blowing :D

Your case temps, as mentioned above, depend a great deal on the temperature of your computer room. I unfortunately only have one room, and my desk is under the heating vent. So, either I'm cold, or the computer is hot. Tradeoffs... :)

and if it falls off on both sides, then yer fan blows/sucks

of all the fans ive worked with the, air is pushed towards the label side. so if your looking at the label the air should be in your face.

oh yeah and welcome to the [H]ard|Forum. :)

Don't let em shake ya nyczxplizit
Kind of like a right of passage:eek:

We're here to help!

Your temps are pretty good though

Room temps play a hughmungo roll in comp temps!

Welcome :D

there are little arrows on the side of fans indicating spin direction and airflow direction.

be very happy with 30-36 temps unless your ambient is 10C of lower. (and even then its not bad)
