ok here is the way things are set up

there is a network of computers, one of which is a server, one is a client... as a backup precaution if the broadband/hardware VPN fails, the client has a DU modem connected and a cisco VPN software client installed...

now

the network is a 10.x.x.x, and when the cisco VPN client connects to the VPN (via DU), it will disable all LAN communications unless it is a 192.168.x.x network...

anotherwords, when my DSL/Hardware VPN fails, i have to switch over the addressing to 192.168.x.x (which means the entire LAN, all computers and all printers) before the client computer can access the VPN via dialup AND the network simultaneously, if i don't switch the addressing over it is either one or the other, but never both...

and of course i need both...

seems like a pretty hefty bug in the Cisco VPN Client (this is version 4.8)

so does anybody know of any sort of workaround or tweak to get this thing to work with a 10.x.x.x address? this dialup backup protocol isn't nearly as seamless as it could be if it would just work the way i'd like it to

please advise and thanks for your help
