Need Help with Antec 900 Cabling

I'm sure this topic has been brought up before, but I don't have the tools to do things like drill holes, etc...so I'm hoping you guys can help me. I just got my Antec 900 case along with a 500w Thermaltake PSU. The PSU has 2 strings of 4x 4-pin molex connectors for all of the drives and fans. The problem occurs in front of the drive bays and fans, my cables are all crossing over in that area and I'm having trouble finding a way to help hide a lot of it.

I don't have a SATA HDD, just a standard PATA, and the same goes for my 2 CD/DVD drives as well...so I can't turn the HDD around because there just isn't enough room between it and the front fan. I have 3 fans in the front of my case, 1 on the back and another up top. Help!

Your going to have to spend some money on some etended cabling , www.jab-tech.com is a good place to look. Cable management wasn't something that they set their minds on when they designed this case.

Well, given the materials presented, i would make sure i have rounded IDE cables, as well as loomed PSU cables. Go for black or another solid color that matches, so they blend when you tie them together. You can try your luck buying it at Electronics stores, or you can just order a Kit.

Just browsing the great photos in the Rate My Cables Thread will yield a bunch of neat tricks.

I would also check out g33zy's thread on wire cleanup, they promise a 900 worklog is on its way, and you can see a sample of a 900 on page 2.

I found a pretty simple way of routing wiring in the Antec 900. Me, my trusty hole saw/dremel and some surgical tubing.

Here are the holes I've tagged:

I just did this mod for a buddy of mine at work with the same case. We plan a system build over the weekend but so far he's happy with the layout.

Also you can buy a corded drill super cheap 30.00 at Ace I tried to find something local and for some reason walmart doesn't have power tools on there site. A good drill is invaluable around the house for more then just case modding with a Dremel you are a little more limited for its use because they are mainly for specialty style jobs and cost twice as much.

I have a craftsman drill and attachment set, just no dremmel piece. I don't know if it'll be powerful enough to cut though. Maybe I should look into cutting the holes anyways, because that seems to be the only way.

The orange molding is RC nitro fuel tubing I picked up at my local hobby shop. I just took an exacto to it and used it to keep the wires from damage.

I just recently got the 900, as well. I spent hours trying to run the wires as neatly as I could, which is tough cause you really don't have much room to work with. IMHO the only way to do it is to cut access holes like MrE showed, or the cover at the bottom like LittleJohn (nice, BTW LittleJohn ). I know I am going to to redo mine that way, as soon as I get an extension for my 4 pin CPU cable.( its not long enough to run behind the mobo.) Its kinda a PITA, but the outcome is definitely worth it.

not too bad I suppose, but still not good enough for me. I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist! lol
