need help upgrading graphics card

No, stay away from the 256mb version.

It will give you max 2fps more and is deffinately not worth the money.

Better to save the money for when you want to get a new motherboard and CPU or why not spend them on some good games. :D

160 gig Hdd
256 ram
nvidia 420 Mx

God the thing is slow... shes going to be getting new ram , and since her boyfriend likes games ill give em a early present for the holidays :cool:

and then new cpu and case and mobo down the road IT Wont be a dell once im done with it!

Ok , What is the difference in here both are the same 128 versions of pro. Why is the other more? are some accessories not included or something?

The cheeper one is OEM. That means you get the card and a cd with the drivers.
The other is Retail wich means you get the card in a big shiny box, the driver cd, a manual, some extra programs and GAMES. :p

already have the games, D3, Far cry, HL2, BF vietnam.

how will it handle them on a regular basis?

could I get atleast 35-40fps in d3 ?

The card should be able to handle those games pretty well.
HL2 is highly dependant on the CPU and RAM so don't expect any miracles, but you should be able to run it in 1024x768 with rather high settings.

Doom3 is based on OpenGL and ATI has always been weaker than Nvidia in OpenGL but you should be able to run it good but you might have to lower some settings.
