Need help undervolting

Hey guys I am trying to undervolt my wife Phenom II x4 955 on a Biostar 790gxe 128m Mobo. The reason being its overheating and since it came with a stock voltage of 1.44, I know should be able to undervolt it fairly well. I didn't want to use a program but I can't figure out how to do it via the bios. I also tried using the T series software that came with the motherboard but it doesn't allow undervolting. I found the vcore in the bios under the tseries ocing features but all it has is a drop down list that is set on "auto" but has increments starting at +.020 and go up to +1.260. This looked like it would be overvolting it and there is no visible way to undervolt. Thanks for the help.

edit: Even though I would prefer doing this via the bios, if anyone knows a decent fairly simple tool to use to do this, I'll consider it. I have seen a few k10stat, rmclock but a bit leery.

look and see if theres a cpu VID option. the stock voltage is 1.325v not 1.44v so either the VID is set to high or you might need a bios update or revert to an older bios. if all else fails use AMD overdrive and tell it to set the overclock/voltage on boot.

Thanks Sir, didn't think about checking for bios update. Haven't looked since first installing the board a little over a year ago. Yea I knew that normally it could be much lower but read many cases like mine were it came at installation with a higher voltage. I have actually tried doing this via Overdrive about a year ago when temps were merely high and not overheating but could never get the voltage changes to stick via overdrive. I'll take a 2nd look though.

I found the the cpu vid, I needed to enable custom p-systems for it to be an option. Got it lowered down to 1.30 in the bios and saw a nice drop in temps. Thanks again Sirmonkey.

Though when stress testing the temps still get into the 60's. Going to have to get a new case(real shoddy case atm) and reapply thermal paste.
