need help setting up u torrent with a switch on college internet

okay so now im back at college and having a really hard time getting u torrent to work. I dont know how to even get it started downloading. I am using all cat 6 cable and a dynex switch. if anyone could help me get started i would appreciate it. maybe even recommend another torrent program too might help if u know how to get it going
 
Have you tried using it already and you can't connect to anyone? Have you tried using the official Bittorrent client or Azureus or Bittornado and they don't connect either?

If so, sounds like your college blocks bittorrent.
 
^^^ yup, if your college is smart they are blocking torrent traffic, otherwise their networks would be fubard

try an encrypte torrent client, many ISP's alone are blocking p2p traffic.
 
Ypu can probably call your college's IT department for help, unless they don't allow p2p traffic on their network (in which case your post is breaking the forum rules.)
