wanted a 570 GTX but $370 (plus) for the better built (and therefore quieter/cooler) cards turned out to be a bit too pricy for me. So I'm looking at a used MSI HD 6970 Lightning for $300 at the moment and began looking at the 6950 flavor. I almost always have bought nVidia but had some HD 4870's in the past ... nice card but seemed weaker than the 260 GTX when AA was added. I use lots of AA, Anisotropic x16, etc

been using 460 GTX SLI but want a single card solution for under $300

MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III 1G/OC is currently $230 after MIR and is affordable. Is the MSI HD 6970 Lightning worth the extra $70 with respect to fps ?

What do you suggest ?

300 for that card is not bad at all.

570 would be an okay upgrade i geuss, but you might be loosing performance coming from a gtx 460 sli setup.

6970 2G is great, I recommend it. Amazing card runs everything I need @ max settings @60 Fps, I also have a i5 and and can do rendering as well.

Good deal right here on amazon

Just needed a nudge to press the Buy It Now button ... thanks { 8^D

$290 + $10 Priority ship and it's the lightning version (should hold good re-sell value). Comes with retail box, all accessories and 1.5 year part/labor warranty (ad says 2.5 years but that's parts only). Haven't used an ATI game card since the 4890 release so this will be a fun experience
