Need help: Quick wireless dis-connects and connects...

I just installed a D-Link 802.11b wireless PCI card into my rig and I go from excellent signal strength to nothing for about a second, then I re-connect automatically... and this happens anywhere from every one to five minutes. It halts downloads and just in general pisses me off. Anyone with knowledge care to help me figure this out?

Are you using the XP wireless zero whatever the hell its called thing to control your wireless card? I have heard of people having this issue (particularly with netgear, however) when using XP to control their connection.

yeah i am, assuming that's what's built into XP. it's working fine now for the most part. i'm confused, but whatever works.
