I want to get a 17" or larger lcd for less than $700. That price is the absolute max; I'd rather spend less if possible.

Things I do most: video editing, web design and games (mostly ut2k4 atm). So obviously I want a respectable response time. I need flat panel for desk space, so from a gaming perspective unfortunately crt is not an option.

Problem is, I don't even know where to begin looking....

From what I've read The Samsung 710T is the best way to go for gaming. It has a response time of 12ms, its also 17 inches. From the user reviews Ive read on this and other forums people love it for their games and everything else with little to no ghosting. I'll be getting one once I see another good Dell.com deal :) .

edit: oops, forgot to add it retails for around $500 right now. And people say to purchase from Dell.com because of their return policies due to pixels, in our case "not satisfied" ;) .

newegg has it for a little cheaper but their return policy requires 8 dead pixels... how many dead pixels does Dell require for it to qualify for replacement??

btw, i've found excellent reviews on that display thx

You can return to Dell if you simply don't like it. From what I understand they have a good return policy.

I apologize for Excelsior, I hope his last statement doesnt make you reconsider the Monitor or think less of it

Blah Blah Blah

What's the diff between a 710T and a 710N (the 710T is 50 bucks more... anyone know why??)
