Ok I think I have pretty much made up my mind on either one of these systems but cannot decide which one. Please give me your opinion on what system you think I should go with and please point out any problems that you see or suggestions.

- ASUS K8V DELUXE K8T800 S754 MOTHERBOARD
- 1 gig bargain bin DDR400 pc3200
- LG 52X IDE CD-ROM OEM
- WESTERN DIGITAL 80GB 7200RPM SATA HARD DRIVE
- Antec Sonata (with inc 350 PSU)
- First x800pro or 6800GT I can get my hands on
- cheapest display I can get for now

OR -

mmk, both are descent choices, here is what id do:
(Kinda looks like my system, but with a better video card :p )

- AMD AthlonXP 2800+ - $120
- Abit NF7-s - $85
- Kingston Value 2700 Dual Channel 1Gig - $170
- Some sort of CDRW/DVD Combo - $40

A good monitor is important, what kind are you looking for, CRT or LCD?
I would recommend a CRT, 19", looks better and is cheaper than a LCD!

As far as the processor goes, i would say get the AMD64. And thus you would be getting the ASUS A8V motherboard.

How much were you planning on spending?
