I am planning on overclocking my pc It is

Processor:Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600

Motherboard:Quad-Core Supports) Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard

Powersuply:500 watt.

For the porcessor would it be better to overclock a AMD Athlon™64 X2 6000+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology or the Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600.

I heard its like a chance to overclock I really dont no but i would appriciate your help.

Don't start overclocking until you understand the socket types of processors. :)

Be careful, and best of luck.

the e6600 clocks way better than the amd. the amd is almost at its limis stock....

i have an asus board, the plain p5b-plus, and the e6600, i have had it orthos stable at 3.8 ghz with 1.575 core volts.....

now i dont suggest you try this at first, read up on it, and understand what you are doing.

and remember, Ocing is dependant on more than just a cpu, you need good ram, psu, mb also.

read up on it first, then come back, id be glad to help you get a good oc. if you air cooling, dont get your hopes too high, say 3- 3.4 ghz.

You are using watercooling then I assume?

1.575 volts is getting very close to the edge with that CPU. I do not recommend going over 1.5 unless you have good cooling and money(plus CPUs) to burn.
