Need help formatting external hardrive.

I bought an "I/O Magic 250 GB External Hard Drive " for backup files and I decided to format it to NTFS from the original Fat32. I want to use the hard drive on my xbox 360 though and I read the drive has to be in Fat32 format. The problem is when I go to format it the only options windows gives me is NTFS format. So my question is how do I format it back to Fat32. I also tried formatting it using a dos command but it said the volume was too big for Fat32 format.

Use a GParted live cd to format it to FAT32, volume shouldn't be an issue when using a partitioning application.

So I have to make an actual cd out of that and restart my computer and boot off that cd? Can't I do it with some sort of windows program?

XP doesn't support FAT32 partitions larger than 32GB. You could create a smaller fat32 partition at the front of the disk and then an ntfs partition taking up the rest.
