I have a NEC 1970gx (glossy 19" lcd) and im looking to get a new widescreen monitor(s) for dual screen gaming (supreme commander). I cant decide on how I want to go about my dual screen setup... I got it down to 2 options.....

1) Buy (2) 22" LCDs and dual screen them together disregard my current LCD. I like this idea however the only thing that turns me off about the new 22" lcds is the TN panel and the lower resolution (1680x1050) and density.

2) Buy (1) nice 24" LCD and dual screen with my current 19" NEC LCD. I like this choice as well because I get a big nice primary display with higher resolution and a better panel. I like my NEC alot but I am wary of this combo because im not sure how it would scale up with the 19" LCD and if it would match decently.

Would love to hear what others think about this and if they have any input or experiences they could share that would help me in this choice.

well im in the same boat as you, i just sold a 2005fpw and got one of these 22" samsungs from where I work at and i can tell you that is not as sharp or are the colors well represented. Ive had this monitor a day, and im already pondering taking it back. But to give it some props, it is a better gaming monitor than my 2005, less blur from motion and you really do not notice the colors outside of your desktop. Im thinking about biting the bullet and spending the 700 on a nice 24" and geting a cheap 19" for the side. Only problem is that I have never seen a 24" LCD computer screen so i really have no basis for comparison, which makes me hesitant to spend the extra 300 bucks. But im sure like anything else in life. You get what you pay for.

Yeah its a hard decision

If i already had decent 19" like yourself, i would opt for the 24", im no videophile or anything but im just not as thrilled about this monitor as i'd thought id be.

Im for the 24inch option 2. I love gaming on one huge scren, same with wathcing movies. And having that 2nd screen open for irc or browsin while you are watching the latest legally aquired (of course :p ) episode of lost is great.

2 votes for option #2 :). Now the big question if I go with option two, any recommendations on LCDs I should look at price range 700-850?

I just spoted this for $819 Acer AL2616WD .... now a new 26" im wondering how that would look with a 19"...
