as some members suggested it could be a power issue. and as i just bought a GTX280 i want to be 100% sure before i install it. So I am exchanging my PSU and buying a UPS. The only problem is that i have no idea what UPS should i buy. I need your help guys. i will be getting a 750W PSU, now what specifications should the UPS have?

If you are not going to run for an hour or more on battery power then the extra expense of a "True Sine Wave" output from a APC SmartBackUps can be deferred & just a basic APC BackUps with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) should be sufficient.

The WATTAGE, not the V/A rating, the wattage rating of your UPS should equal or exceed the actual power usage of your system, this includes anything that is plugged-in to the battery backed-up plugs like the monitor & cable modem, but not items plugged in to just the surge suppression plugs like the speakers.

So usually a wattage rating of 390 to 650 or so is fine.

APC UPS's can be had from many retailers for less than APC charges on their site.

It is also possible to get "Refurbs" with warranty & new batteries from several reliable sources.

Please give full system specs so we can figure wattage.

Always Build with the Best,
Dave:)

I dont think i would need to work on the battery power, do i? sorry for being a n00b but the only reason i want to buy a UPS is to protect my PC after i lost two video card within a few weeks.

Geforce GTX280

Your Corsair HX620 is more than enough.

You are probably under 400W & even if you are using a CRT, the following should do it.

540W: APC Back-UPS RS 800VA 120V Black

$132@APC, but often cheaper else where & again Refurbs are an option.
