need cpu fan suggestions.

I need a better cpu fan, something that is quiet.

my current fan is a stock amd fan and its a screamer.

I do not plan on overclocking at all. The priority is something that will be quiet yet keep my cpu from frying.

cost is not a concern.

If cost does not matter then get a whole new heatsink, a good fan on the stock cooler will be all but a waste, you can pick up good coolers that will be VERY quiet on a stock chip. What socket/chip do you have?

sorry for the confusion, yes, i will need an fan/heatsink combo.

i have an AM3 socket (amd quad core 3.2 giz black cpu)

the mother board i have is an aus m4a796 deluxe if that helps at all.

Wile the S1283 is a great HS for the price on AMD systems (unless it's been fixed) will only mount one way and will not mount in the normal front to back fashion. However the Hyper 212 Plus will mount correctly.

That 92mm HS is just not in the same class as the S1283. For the price the S1283 or CM HS's are better deals.

Scythe has many good options for a low price and are quiet. I have used many different models and they are all low noise.
