I've got a new computer and I need advice on how to best cool it.
Antec P183
Antec CP-850w
Intel Core2Quad 9550
Asus P5Q-E
Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) Dominator 8500
Passive cooled Radeon 4850
and probably 4-6 harddrives, still undecided how many I'll put into it

now about the cooling stuff I have lying around
True Black
1 x 120mm Nexus Real Silent
3 x 120mm Scythe Slip Stream 800rpm
1 x 120mm Scythe Slip Stream 1200rpm
1 x 120mm Scythe S-Flex 1200 rpm

what fan placement would be best if you consider both cooling and noise?

Well I wouldn't use the slipstreams on the True unless it's one as a pull fan in a push-pull setup. The slipstreams just don't have enough static pressure to be effective with a TRUE imo.

Id use the scythe s flex fan, then maybe add a second one for push/pull.

If you don't want to buy more fans, I'd use the S-Flex as push and the Slipstream 1200 rpm as a pull fan. the Nexus and Slipstream 800rpm fans are better used as case fans since they work much better in free air applications than pushing air through densely packed fins.

I'm running 2 S-Flex 120mm 1600rpm fans and I can't really hear them inside the case. I think those are the F ones. I have 3 X 140mm 1000rpm and 1 x 120mm 1200 rpm case fans besides the cpu fans and right next to me all I hear is the quiet air flow. At 2m I can barely tell it's on except for the fan lights. I use passive cooling on the video card (Accelero S1 rev.2).

I use 2 of theese on my TRUE black.

Sharkoon silent eagle se pwm, 400-1200 rpm

Both are run via a pwm adapter that allows the cpu fan header to adjust the speed, power is provided from a molex on the psu, extremely quiet even at full speed, great cooling on my q9550 at load at 3.8ghz.

thanks for the advice, I think I'll try out the s flex as push and 1200 rpm slipstream as pull for now and see how it goes and then use the rest as case fans, can always modify it later depending on temps and noise.

what is the best way to mount the true black, regular mounting so it's pointing towards the rear exhaust or rotate it so it points upwards towards the top exhaust? if there's room that way that is
