I recently dump couple old graphix cards to my dad's machine to make it a bitcoin mining machine. That machine would be up 24/7. Currently have a8-3850 apu on FM1 MB with 2*4 gb mem, 1 HD, 1 ssd, 6950 2gb, 5830 1gb, It is using an OCZ modstream 600 w. Both graphix cards are slightly OC'ed with stock volt, with memory under clocked. The GPU's should all be near or at 100% load. Should I get a bigger PS? I checked with online PS calculator, it said it was enough. It recommanded 521 w ps.

The amp rating is what matters the most,, the 6950 card requires at least 30 amps on the 12 volt rail and a 500 watt PSU. the 5830 requires at least 35-40 amps on the 12 volt rail with a 500 watt PSU. Check the amp rating on the 12v rail on your power supply, if it meets or exceeds this you should be ok.
Although i recommend a PSU with at least 80 amps on the 12v rail, and 800 watts if you are going to run both videocards simultaneously. Remember though, depending on how many hard drives, optical drives, and other components in your system it may require a bigger power supply. (more amps per 12v rail(s) the better)..

The OCZ PSUs are over rated. A decent 650w unit will give you abit of headroom. Corsair, Seasonic, Rosewill Capstones come to mind.

The modxstream 600 watt is a decent borderline mediocre unit, and should power your system just fine.
