I was considering getting a Gateway fpd2185w monitor for my computer... but then I started thinking...
For like $100 or so more I can get a 27" LCD-TV.
I was looking at the Audiovox fpe2705 because I can get a discount through my stepdad.
Seems pretty good.
My main hope is to have a nice display I can put in my living room to use as a primary HDTV, game console use, and also be able to use my PC on it for games, web browsing, whatever.
I noticed the resolution is 1280x720, but yet it mentions "available formats for VGA/DVI" are 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1280x960.
What exactly does this mean?
Can I not hook my PC into the LCD through DVI and run it at a good 16:9 resolution? Why not run at 1280x720??? Will this force me into 4:3 or 5:4 ratios? That would suck...
Any other advice on which TV to look into, or general info I should know about this (whether my plan is stupid or even plausible) would be very helpful.
Thanks.
