Hey all, I need some help deciding on something.

I currentkly have a 11600K and a ASUS ROG Z590-E Motherboard, 32GB RAM DDR4. 5 year old rig. My MB is currenly beginning to fail. I need a replacement. With DDR5 RAM prices the way they are I have to make a decision

Option 1
Get a AMD 5800X3D and a Motherboard for about 450 Euros. Reuse my DDR4

or

Option 2
Get a AMD 9800X3D and a Motherboard and DDR5 Ram...and 1000 Euros. That DDR5 is killing me, it doubles the price.

The Problem

Here's the problem, I am currently unemployed, I got laid off 2 months ago. I have some savings/unemployment benefits to last for about a year, but I have to be careful with this economy and who knows when I can get another job.
Which is the SMARTER Move? AM4 is dead and if it werent for my employment situation I wouldnt even consider it. I know if I went to AM4 I would certainly wiould have to upgrade again the moment I find work and this DD5 madness ends.

I do not mind spending the bigger bucks IF...it makes sense. I need this PC for gaming, YES but its also my principal tool in finding a job. I cannot have the MB go suddenly. If its failing, I'd rather replace it now.

Your advice is appriciated.

I would go with the AM4 system, that will be your best bang for the buck. With being unemployed and not knowing when you will have a job again, it would be wise to save as much money as you can. Plus AM4 is still a very good system, heck I am stil using mine and havent run into any games that run poorly on it yet.

AM4, go as cheap as you can. honestly, even used stuff on ebay works well. Hope you find work soon!

why do you suspect its failing? its old enough that the cmos battery could be dying and that will cause all sorts of weird issues....
