I just bought an athlon 3500+ Winchester with an MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum

Motherboard 939.

I am not sure how to install but and my mums boyfriend doesnt have much computer

experience but he said he could install the processor.

My questions are

1) After the motherboard and cpu is installed, what do I have to change in the

BIOS? What do I set the CPU speed in the bios?

2) I have 2 sticks of 512mb DDR400 ram but they are both different brands. I want

to try running it in duel channel mode but if it doesnt work, i have to run it in

single channel. Do i need to change anything in the bios for my ram to run

correctly?
 
Question 1 answer: The CPU will automatically run at its designed speed, you don't need to change anything unless your overclocking.

Question 2 answer: Whether they do or don't run in Dual-Channel doesnt matter, its all automatically handled within the bios. Just stick em in and hope for the best.

well don't just "stick em in" read your manual....you usually have to put them in a certain order to get the dual channel. it's really not hard man....just be sure to install it correctly...there's only 1 way that the CPU can go in, dont force it...same with memory....

but your manual should have all your answers for you..
