Trying to get my i7 2600k stable at 5Ghz but I need better cooling first. im currently running 4.8GHz with 1.35v load at 78C using a corsair h50 push/pull config. Is there anything better I can do? Should I go full fledged liquid cooling and if so how much will it cost? Are there any other LCLC better than the H50?

I believe the H70 is a full 10-13c cooler then the H50. Depends on how cool you need to go.

I've ran both. H70 performance with push pull was just a hair below performance of H50 push pull.

Push pull configuration is optimum for H50. Do you have airflow coming from outside of the case?

What fans are you using? H50 works well with high CFM fans.

My H50 w/ 2x S-Flex G's undervolted to run around ~1000 RPM keeps my i5 2500k @ 4.4 GHz around ~60C max. Add the extra 4 threads generating heat from an i7 2600k and it would probably be around 65-67C, which is still well within acceptable temperatures. Put on better fans and don't undervolt much (such as Gentle Typhoon's, San Ace 9S's, or 120x38mm fans), and you should be able to get 5 GHz easily on an i7 2600K, so long as it doesn't require boat loads of voltage to run stable. An H60 or H70 would run a bit cooler, but it isn't necessary if you can pick up an H50 for $45-$50 on forums. There are plenty of air coolers that would be sufficent too, like Noctua D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow, Cogage Arrow, Thermalright Venomous-X, Prolimatech Megahalems, etc.
