Howdy folks,

My P5B died on me. i got a new one arriving tomorrow. Now i had 2 x 74 gig raptors in raid 0 on SATA 5 and 6.

Now do i just hook the 2 drives up and build an array using cntl+I ?

Do they have to be "rebuilt" to ensure the new board boots to them proporley.

Any help is appreciated.

If the bios version is correct i would try hooking them up and seeing if they work. Making a new array would be a no no. Your array should show up and shouldn't need to be rebuilt it should just work. Worst case it'd need to be rebuilt but using on board controllers is tricky so you might have a bit of a challenge on your hands.

Alright, so obviously make sure bios on the new matches the old. 7-11 for me. Set the controller to Raid mode and hopefully it'll show up.

here's hoping.

I really dont want to reinstall windows.
