ill have four fans in my new case setup. i wanna filter the intakes and use positive case pressure to keep dust out, so i think a fan controller would help me out with that. but ive heard that some buzz when you turn down the voltage on the fans, and i saw one on display at a store here that does exactly that when you turn the knobs down.

can someone recommend one that doesnt? a basic four knob thing without any other junk on it if you know of one. thanks.

oh, i hope i can spend under $30 on it, but whatever.

Yeah, I'd also like to know, because at 1500RPM, the fan I have on my CPU is inaudible, but there's still that annoying hum!

the zalman one that comes with the CNPS-6000. It's called the fanmate i think, I dont hear any buzz at all from mine.

im talking about a four port console that sits in a drive bay, like this, only that one sucks. its the one i saw in the store that clicks and buzzes.

iirc, the ones that buzz use modulation. I doubt a resistor based one would make buzzing... could be wrong, of course

The Sunbeam Rheostat has some very positive qualities:

4. It makes no noise whatsoever nor cause any extraneous noise in fans at any speeds or combination of settings.
