Need a Drive Image/Clone program for Vista

I have a Windows Vista Laptop and need to Image the drive cause im going to bring it in to get fixed. I noticed when i "backup" in the control panel it doesnt Image the drive like in windows 7. I have been recommended "Acronis" but when i looked it up it looks like a program you have to pay for. So does anyone know of a free Drive Imager?

You have Western Digital drives listed in your sig so, go get this:

A slightly stripped down version of Acronis True Image, designed primarily for use with Western Digital hardware, and of course free.

it kind of sucks, but you can run partimage from the parted magic boot disk. it will make a compressed disk image. for a one time backup, this would work.
