Ok, Thanks for looking. I built this brand new PC

Demon 480watt PSU
Asus k8v mobo
AMD 3200+ 64bit
Cruical drr400 PC 3200 ram 2X 512mb
9800xt 256 8x AGP
samsung 80gig hd
samsung cd drive

Ok... I wire the baby up turn it on load in windows everything seems to be fine. But then the restarts kick in... massive restarts any time i try to do anything... If i run 3dmark it crashes short durring the first video. So my computer randomly restarts under load im guessing... sometimes when its idle too.

So I took out a stick of ram.... Still crashed.. put it back in took out the other ram.. started it up still crashed.. but it seemed to last longer in 3dmark...

I get this msg from windows when i power back on about the recovery from a serious error.

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/Response.asp?SID=134
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329284

Here are the graphs of how im running
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/error911-specs.JPG -specs
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/error911-cpuuu.JPG CPU temp
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/error911-volt.JPG Volts
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/error911-nbh.JPG More specs

any idea what should go back? Ideas to fix? im really stump... i may take it to a repair place. I built 2 b4 never a problem like this.

sounds like your processor is overheating (or your mobo's auto-turnoff to prevent overheating is set too low)...

check some temps in the BIOS... and make sure the safety shut off temps are high enough to allow for normal temp variations at load...

It could be Temp related, but that seems less likely than a power issue.

I have never heard of Demon before. Maybe someone else in here has and can vouch for quality, but I would consider that to be the primary suspect.

Also, make sure that your vid card is on its own dedicated rail and not sharing with any other devices.

Any idea what tab that would be under in bios? ;p

second thought too... could be software related... have you reformatted since getting all this new hardware?... if not i recommend it... might be some wacky driver stuff floating around from old system causing this...

He wouldn't have a device error if this was a thermal protection shutdown. A piece of hardware is failing. Either it is driver related or the hardware itself is having issues.

*edit* Good point, he never mentioned that he installed Windows, he just said he loaded into Windows

Yea brand new PC built. I tried other OS's and reformmated and installed a few times.. no luck...

Nothing seams to far far off in those screen shots.
The 12V rail is a little low but that may just be the mobo sensor.
Check them all with a multimeter.

Turn off auto-restart after failure.
System properties -> Advanced -> Startup & Recovery -> Setting.
Untick auto-restart.
That way you can check that you get the same BSOD each time.

Download and run the latest version of Memtest86.
That way you will know if its memory errors causeing this problem.

After that its things like disable the cache in the cpu, under clock the cpu, etc to try an isolate the problem.

Luck......... :D

I'm a big fan of stability testing. I find lots of new hardware issues with two simple pre-OS tests;

- Memtest86+
- Your HD manufacturer's own diagnostic sofware (Drive fitness test, etc.).

I don't even attempt to load the OS until both of those come back with "no errors". It's where I always start with a new build.

FWIW - B.B.S.

Ok now that i turned the restart on error thing off... i havent had restarts or BSOD's... ive been running fine... is this alright? or can i be damanging parts cause the comp isent shutting down if it needs too?

EDIT: nvm still shut down..I going to do the memtests....

Ok, I ran the memtests ram is ok... what next? will any power suppy work with a AMD board? If it gets the point where i have to take my CPU out, I used just the pad that comes on the heatsink for paste. would i be messing anything up by breaking that seal would i be able to put that heatsink back on?

Dump the Demon PSU it's a Powmax POS. Only possible way to fix problems caused by a PSU is to get a better PSU.

Get a PCP&C, Vantec, Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle, Super Flower, and a few others.

If turning those things off has worked than it was a Windows problem. I'd keep in mind the power situation, as well as overheating issues with your processor and vid card. Looking at the pics, though, processor heat isn't an issue, although mobo temp is. You may want to put a case fan in there to blow hot air out, otherwise your mobo will overheat and possibly cause damage. Aim to keep the mobo temps at around 28 - 30 degrees C max.

any good fans for a motherboard :p or anything to cool it suggestions wise that can face a mobo? Ive never seen a fan for a mobo.

Where you stable in Memtest.
How many loops did you run it for.
Does it reboot if you idle in Windozes.

If that seems stable then start stress the cpu.
Prime95, PiFast, etc.
Anything that loads the cpu without loading the vidio system.

Luck.......... :D

Yes i was stable never restarted durring my memtests
Its on the 6th test right now no errors.
Sometimes if i leave it idle it will restart.
i will stress it next using those progs.
Thank you.

This may be off, but if its going into windows, and then suddenly rebooting and the heat is not that high. Perhaps your cpu does not have adequate voltage? Try maybe upping the voltage a tiny bit, it wont hurt the cpu at all. But if suddenly becomes more stable. That could be it :)

Well I see you also have a asus board... would you tell me where and how to do this.. as im sure it is on auto would you suggest a number to put it on? Thanks... :D
