Pfft why no one answer my poll lol.... Ok you dont have to if you dont want to but do you think its worth getting the NEC or waiting for the new HP zr24 ? I will be using for xbox 360, films and general web surfing etc. but the one thing that annoys me in monitors the most is backlight bleed :S otherwise looks like good monitor...

I use low brightness anyway so whats its like on low brightness in a dark room?

Well its a good poll only i dont think a lot of people actually have the monitor.
Im also interested in this monitor so some more results would be nice :)

I voted Can see it with lights off even on low brightness. Having said that, I still love the thing to death. The lower left corner on mine bleeds much worse than the other corners. Unless you are really anal about it, don't let it stop you from getting this monitor. The only time it really bothers me is when i'm watching a panoramic widescreen movie in the dark. Even then its not a huge deal.

MM I think ill just stick with my 20wgx2 until i can afford a proper nice 24" S-ips maybe with LED backlighting as well...

20wgx2 is a tad small especially with 1680 but it is the best quality LCD I have seen and its almost 3 years old.... Actually the new apple cinema display i saw the other day was pretty damn nice but also a LOT of money!

I can't speak for others, but I think that some of the back light bleed that is reported for the EA231WMi is actually the "IPS glow" effect with dark backgrounds. As an owner of this monitor, I don't notice back light bleed, though I do notice a "glow" in the corners w/ a dark background if I sit too close to the monitor. This "glow" seems to be a near universal trait of IPS (and maybe other) panel LCDs that don't have a polarizer to eliminate/subdue the glow effect.
