I figured I would update the progress on my build since the case ships tomorrow. I went and purchased a ton of parts the last few days, and figured I'd get some input in case I lfet anything out.

Purchased
Case: NCASE M1
PSU: Silverstone SFX 600W
Motherboard: ASUS Z97I-Plus
CPU: i7 4790k
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master GeminII M4 (Looks a little too low profile for the RAM)
RAM: PNY XLR8 2133 DDR3 (This RAM has heatsinks on it that I dont know will fit)
GPU: EVGA GTX 980 (Reference style blower card)

Not purchased
SSD: Not sure what I'm doing here yet, might try and find a deal tomorrow on prime day.
Cabling:This is where I am clueless. I have no clue where to get low profile cables for cable management assuming I will need them that is.

If there is anything you guys can think of that I have left out let me know. I am in Dallas right now for work, so have easy access to stores where I can pick things up.

Except for the cooler/memory combo which I'm not sure about, it looks good. Everything I read tells me that blower style GPUs work better in small cases and you can always trick it out with water cooling some day.

Are you ordering any other fans, say for the back or bottom?

I understand there is a short PSU cable set available for the SX600, but honestly, I don't know how much neater it is inside.

The SATA based SSDs are very cheap. Many people seem to be going for the Samsung 850 series.

Good luck with your build! I'm waiting for my v4 m1 as well.

Probably no water cooling in this build's future, but I may could put an AIO cooler on the cpu. As far as extra fans, I'm glad you mentioned it because it hadn't even crossed my mind. I'm so used to cases coming with a few fans. I'll need to check the spec sheets on the case, but will probably end up going with some noctuas.

As far as SATA SSDs, I do have 1 spare SSD that will probably end up being my boot drive. It is a 120GB Corsair drive that is just taking up space in my large build. I want to try to find a TB SSD for the tiny build sometime in the future, but a 120 should hold me off for now.

SX600-G comes with flat cable set, no need to buy another set of cables. Building with it is rather easy on cable management. You could buy another set for sleeving, but imo not worth the hassle (M1 doesn't have window for showing off the build).

The ram is the only thing I'd keep an eye for, as it can possibly hit the cpu cooler. Ram without heatspreaders or low profile is recommended. Be wary of the cooler hitting the psu depending on the orientation (extending past the board to the right), as some top down coolers have this issue.

Yea, I don't have the RAM in hand yet, but I checked it out online and it appears to have some pretty exaggerated heat spreaders. Is there a CPU cooler you could recommend that might not overhang the ram slots, or maybe one that gives them more clearance?

Cool! I can recommend the 850 Evo for ssd. I bought two 250GB's and set them up in raid 0. I also have a 3TB HDD with a 500GB partition for backup. Loading times are almost non-existant for both programs, files and games.

Here's my build:
Purchased:
Processor and cooler: i7-4790K + Noctua NH-Li9 (Any tips on better coolers? I want to do some overclocking)
Motherboard: AsRock Z97e-itx/ac
Memory: Kingston HyperX 16GB 1600MHz (cheap used)
Graphics: Asus GeForce GTX 960 Mini OC (might buy a 980 Ti, Titan or Quadro later this year)
Power: Silverstone SX600-G
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB + Samsung 850 EVO 250GB in Raid 0 + WD Desktop Black 3TB (1 Backup mirror partition)

Not purchased:
Case Fans
Better CPU cooler
Bluray drive
(might get sleeved psucables)

The NH-Li9 is quite dissapointing really, I thought it would give me some better temperatures than the stock cooler, but its not really any difference. But if I'm going to put these parts into a TU-100 when skylake comes out, I guess it was an ok buy.
Do you have any recommendations for a cpu-cooler that can oc the cpu to 4,5-4,8GHz?

I'm not sure about the ram i bought, it says it was supposed to be 1600MHz memory, but in bios it says 1333MHz. Is there a noticable leap in performance by upgrading the memory to something with a higher clockspeed?

I don't know much about airflow and fans, any recommendations here as well?

I see people buy sleeved psu cables which look really great. Are they expensive and where can they be bought? I've only found extremely long cables(800mm+) which seems a bit too much for such a small case..(?)

Really looking forward to getting this case now :)

You can go top down, with good options being the Noctua C12P and the C14 (best, but you can't use the hdd bracket on the sidepanel). If you want a mini tower cooler, Noctua U9S and the D9L, but air flow is somewhat different than the top downs and should be thought of before deciding. If going tower I'd put a intake fan on the left side of the bracket and an exhaust on back, leaving the right bracket empty.

Personally im using a Corsair H100i with Noctua F12 fans as intakes, it gives full clearance to ram if you put the tubing side of the block to the left, towards the i/o shield. its a decent option but noisier than air coolers. If going for mid-high cpu ocs a clc probably will be better performance wise.

I went h60. There was no way a heatsink was going to clear that ram. I picked the smaller one so I can end up mounting another fan, and hopefully getting a bit more airflow. I ended up getting 2 Corsair SP120's as they had the highest pressure of all of the fans I looked at.
