Ncase Build Help (space, temp, components)

Hi guys (and gals!)

My first post here but I'm a longtime lurker. I recently got my hands on a Ncase M1 and I'm pretty excited to build a new machine to use for the next few years of school. Here is where I'm at so far.

PURCHASED
Case: Ncase M1 Black
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Impact
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 512GB 2.5" SSD
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition

I would like some advise from those familiar with this case some help with the following components. Specifically with space, noise and temp.

CPU Cooler: ???
Fans: ???
Power Supply: ???

The purpose of this build is to be a small non-mobile workhorse. I'm a 1st year engineering student here in Berkeley and aside from heavy gaming, the unit will also be used for big data and heavy computation. I would also like to poke around with overclocking the i7, and obviously also the KINGPIN GPU, so the PSU and cooling needs to be sufficient to *hopefully* be able to. I'd also like to keep it as silent as possible but not at the expense of above goals.

I appreciate everyone's help in advance! In terms of budget, I'm not too concerned with the cost at this point. I'm also pretty confident enough in my ability to be able to perform (or to learn) how to do some some light to medium technical modification to things like the case or the PSU if needed.

The ST45SF-G, as the highest wattage SFX PSU, is really the only option as far as PSU goes currently, at least until SilverStone releases the 600W version. An ATX PSU is only an option if you understand the limitations (140mm max and non-modular, otherwise it will run into the GPU), and modding the cables is practically mandatory, IMO.

It's an extremely good idea to read over the "size restrictions and limitations" for the case (which was on our site until the splash page went up the other day, but still viewable on the IGG campaign page) very carefully. You'll have a bad time otherwise. For example:

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition

This card is too wide (or tall, if you prefer) for the case.

The Corsair Obsidian 250D would be a great match for your built as it takes a full size ATX power supply, will handle just about any video card, and can handle the Corsair H100i cpu cooler and a 200mm front intake fan.

Actually the 250D has the same problem with tall cards like the Classifieds.

It actually can fit a Classified GPU, but only if you buy a slim PCIE connector.

+1, but not sure how much headroom you'll have for overclocking. I'm hitting ~80°C on stock 4770k with that cooler (w/smaller 120mm F12 fan). If you're okay using an SFX PSU and sacrificing use of the side 3.5" HDD rack, maybe consider the larger Noctua C14 if you're planning on doing an air cooled build. Another member hit 4.7GHz at 70°C with his delidded 4770k using that cooler.

Me too. Molex themselves don't have any alternate designs for these pins and connectors. But maybe someone else designed something?

Seems like the only ones readily available are these Ebay hack jobs:

The only actual molded angled connectors I've seen are the ones that come with the Alienware X51.

The hacked up one Necere showed from ebay is the same one I was talking about.

I believe they sell L shaped pin things as well, but that would have to be a custom job.

Necere, maybe Lian-Li is able to source these ? Or atleast tell us which company makes them. Since they'd probably like these too for their SFF cases and they also hooked you up with the low-profile angle PSU extension cable.
