i have the viewsonic vp201b (21.4" tft monitor)
its native resolution is 1600x1200.
when i go down to 1280 to 1024 the image quality suffers substantially more than it should.
is this because it is not running at the native resolution of 1600x1200, and is there any way to stop this??? :confused:
 
LCD screens has a set grid of pixels, so this is why each screen has a native resolution which is viewed best. Yours is 1600x1200 so try to run everything at this resolution, including games if you want to have a clear picture.

When running at resolution other than the native one, interpolation of pixels occurs so there is bluriness noticeable. If you wanted to avoid this, you should have took the CRT way.
 
Yes, 800x600 with full eyecandy might look nice on your screen if your card cannot handle 1600x1200 fast enough.
