Do any NAS have any form of online backup built into them? Looking for a cheaper unit with RAID, not much data, under 500GB is fine, but want something that has online backup support right from the GUI.

Any suggestions?

Look at Synology NAS devices. I think they offer what you are looking for. Also you could use any ZFS based NAS and r-sync to a dropbox folder which would then upload it off-site automatically.

I highly recommend Synology. I did about a month of research on all the companies and I ended up choosing Synology. Best bang for buck + features + support ratio.

You could also sync with amazon S3 if you have more data then dropbox can store

Thats true. How does Amazon's Cloud storage work? Is it very simular to drop box?

I beleive drop box actually uses amazon for storage, but regardless, there are a number of ways to access the amazon storage, ex:

http://s3tools.org/s3cmd
https://www.jungledisk.com/
http://www.tarsnap.com

you can also use an EC2 instance and ssh/rsync:

This client probably has only 30 gigs of data on a winxp server.

I see readynas has the vault built in.

I see mention to rsync and such but isn't that like hacking it to work?

Up we go. Any help would great. Just want something that can be backed up online
