Ok, why doesn't anyone put a fan on the mobo (right) side of a case? Just kinda woundering not that i want to attempt this. More productivly where can i find a 120mm hole saw attachment for my cordless. Lowes only had 4 1/2 which is still a 1/4inch too small. thanks in advance
 
nobody puts a fan there becase nothing on that side gets that hot i mean it would help a bit but it isn't necessary

4.5" is perfect for 120mm fans. Thats what I and (I believe) just about everyone has used.
 
I tried a 5 incher and even though a 120mm fan can still be mounted, the hole ends up being slightly bigger than the fan itself. 4.5'' is good. 4.75'' at most.

There was a thread on this awhile ago, the problem was you got way lower temps, but the only reason was that it was cooling the temp probe under the socket.

My thermaltake case has a fan on the right side blowing on the hard drives. And if you look at some of the new 775 boards (asus) they have metal underneath to help disapate some heat comming off the PCB.
 
lay down a CD, trace it out... And use a jig saw to cut it out. Go slow and then sand it down. Bada bing, bada boom.
 
Jig saw and sanding will work, but I'm just too lazy. The hole saw will take care of everything in one shot. You'll need a decent drill (I use cordless) to get the job done well though. Something like the low-end 12V Dewalt with 300in-lb torque would be the lowest I would go. I once used a 9.6V Black and Decker drill and my case modding experience dropped to an all time low. Don't underestimate the power of proper tools for the job.
