Excuse my n00bness :D :

Ok i have 1x 80 gb pata hard disk (master) and 1x 250 gb pata hard disk (slave) installed in my system currently, and i want to take out the 250 gb and replace it with a new 160 gb one. I just wanna do a format on it and put it back to my external case.

My Question is if i swap the 250gb back in there, will my system re-recognize it? Will I be force to format it again to make it available again in my computer?

If you just take out the 250 as is and then decide you want to put it in later, windows should recognize it just fine and should auto asign it a drive letter when it is reconnected to the system, you should be good to go
