n00b lookin for quiet setups

sod watercooling, just get 3 big slow moving 120mm fans in your system.
one push, one pull and one on an xp-120 for your cpu.
for your gfx card, use an nv5 silencer, and you will have a near silent system for like $100...

Disk Drive Readings should appear on the "Readings" tab, labelled "HDx".

What does your "Info" tab look like? Does it recognise your chipset?

What happens after you press the "Find SMBus Devices" button under the "Info" tab.

Hmmm, must be a particular issue with the raid setup. Works just fine with NF3/4 boards in JBOD mode.

My drives read at about 14C above ambient with the passive Zalman coolers on them and absolutely zero air-flow. I'm sure if I stuck some thermal paste or some thermal tape between the drive and the cooler it'd be a lot better.

Just stuck an inaudible 10cfm fan blowing over the drive for experimental purposes. Drive now sits at 3C above ambient.

if it isnt that hot, then it wont dump that much heat into the loop then
dust is one of the problem that i dont like case fan

The point I was raising was that the passive cooler was acceptable under zero air-flow. The 10cfm fan thing was so simulate a case with at least some air-flow going through it (e.g. PSU fan or whatever).

The point being to demonstrate that it is not required to even actively cool a hard-drive with a fan, but in the event that even a small amount of case air-flow exists, then the drives won't even get remotely warm.

Water-cool them if you insist, but I was just demonstrating that it is unnecessary to do so, and by not water-cooling you'll avoid extra tubing clutter, avoid extra loop restriction, and avoid extra expense.

i have already bought it last year, it is one of the thing that iam very happy with, i no longer hear the seek from the HDD, i think its worth the money already

he he he he....shes gone now guys, please finish your discussion in peace

Back on topic... Something that makes Aqua Computer nice is the use of pushfits, since all you need to do is push the hose into the fitting and make sure it's secure. Second is the smaller tubing sizes. Here is a possible setup idea:

CPU Block: http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchan...oduct_Code=AQX-TDX-P4_478-QC&Category_Code=WB

Alt CPU Block: http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchan...oduct_Code=AQX-WW-AL-USMA-QC&Category_Code=WB (if you don't mind some extra routing and a Y splitter)

GPU Block: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835108066 (this also comes in black)

Pump: http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchan...ct_Code=AQX-50Z-DC12-T-PnC-QC&Category_Code=P (the info page says it's quiet, in bold type too :) )

Radiator: http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchan...D&Product_Code=BIX-PnC-QC-BLK&Category_Code=P

Radiator Fan: http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/product.php?productid=2094&cat=81&page=1

Everything uses pushfits, and is for 3/8" ID tubing. If wanted, a Panaflo L1 can be chosen over the M1, but the M1 might probably end up being the loudest thing in the case. This is a setup I've been debating buying for myself. I left out the tubing, but 10 feet of Clearflex 60, with Swiftech's Cool sleeves for added support in your choice of color can add some 'bling' to the setup. Lastly, add a reservoir or a T-Line and you're all set.
